As a FearFree certified pet sitter, Kaytlynn's K-9 and Cat Care provides services in the client's home where pets are less stressed by remaining in their familiar territory.
FearFree pet sitters use "considerate approach" when greeting your pets and throughout the entire visit or stay. This is done by crouching/sitting down to get on the pet's level, facing sideways from the pet, while offering treats and making no direct eye contact. This makes the pet feel less threatened and more relaxed. The pet will approach the pet sitter when they are comfortable. No forceful techniques will be used.
FearFree pet sitters educate clients on their pet's body language & behavior and recommend various calming techniques to use in the client's absence. FearFree professionals also teach client's the spectrum/levels of FAS (fear, anxiety, & stress) and help identify if your pet is displaying any severe symptoms and what to do next.
Enrichment is a key factor in your pet's life, therefore, a FearFree pet sitter educates clients with many enrichment tips for both canines and felines. Your pet will be both fulfilled and at their happiest.
